This series of resistor discs meets all technical requirements for AC metal‑oxide surge arresters as specified in GB 11032 and IEC 60099‑4. Metal Oxide Surge Arrester

Metal oxide surge arresters are currently the most advanced overvoltage protection devices worldwide. Their core elements, made of zinc oxide and various metal oxides, ensure that under normal operating voltages, the current flowing through the arrester remains at the microampere level. When subjected to overvoltages, the arrester's superior nonlinear volt–ampere characteristics come into play, causing the current to surge instantaneously to several thousand amperes. At this point, the arrester enters a conducting state, dissipating the excess energy and thereby effectively limiting the damage caused by overvoltages to transmission and transformation equipment.
