The 32nd Shanghai International Electric Power Equipment & Technology Exhibition (EP Shanghai), along with the Shanghai International Energy Storage Technology Exhibition and Hydrogen Energy Expo, opened today at Shanghai New International Expo Center (Halls N1-N5 & W5). Jointly organized by the China Electricity Council and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., the exhibition marks its 39th year as the leading event of the electric power industry, gathering innovation from the entire global energy supply chain. Under the theme “Digital Power for a Smart, Integrated Energy Future,” this year’s expo focuses on energy transition, grid modernization, and digitalization during China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, advancing the integrated and low-carbon development of power generation, grid, load, storage, and hydrogen energy solutions. The Largest and the Leading Electric Power Expo in China, Gathers 2000 Brands and 70,000 Visitors from Worldwide This year’s exhibition spans six halls and 75,000 square meters, featuring over 2,000 brands and expecting 70,000 professional visitors from China and abroad. Four concurrent events—EP Shanghai, the Energy Storage Exhibition, the Hydrogen Energy Showcase, and CDCE2025 Data Center & Cloud Expo—create an integrated pathway linking “computing – electricity – energy storage – hydrogen,” and present system-level solutions for AI data centers, zero carbon parks, and industrial applications. Exhibits cover generation, transmission, distribution, and end user applications, including digital grids, automation, energy storage, and intelligent manufacturing equipment. International participation and professional standards reach new heights, with leading global brands such as ABB, Siemens, and Eaton showcasing their latest innovations alongside companies from more than ten countries and regions, strengthening global industry collaboration. ![]() ![]() Opening Ceremony Brings Together Industry Leaders On November 18, EP Shanghai 2025 held its official opening alongside the China Electricity Council’s 2025 Annual Meeting, blending high level exchange with technical showcases. The opening address was delivered by Mr Xin Baoan, President of the China Electricity Council and Chairman of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization and hosted by Yang Kun, Executive Vice Chairman of the China Electricity Council. The event was attended by key government officials, industry leaders, and global business representatives. Companies including Unitree Robotics, DEEP Robotics, Agile Robots, and Lenovo showcased advances in fault prediction, infrared imaging, and field automation—spotlighting the shift toward unmanned, intelligent operations in the power sector. ![]() First Ever Hydrogen Energy Zone Attracts Strong Interest Launched for the first time this year, the Hydrogen Energy Zone focuses on hydrogen production, storage, transport, and multi scenario fuel cell technologies. Visitors experienced “electric–hydrogen” collaboration and grid balancing solutions first hand. Key participants included Shenzhen Energy Group, CEE (Electric Power Research Institute), Shanghai Energy Engineering, SHPT (Sunwise New Energy), Compres, Ewell Industrial, HORIBA, and others, unveiling new hydrogen–power integration cases and applications. The “Smart Digital Energy Empowers New Power Systems” summit, hosted by the China Electricity Council at the Kerry Hotel, brought together experts and users. Additional sessions covered policy and practice for micro-grids, virtual power plants, zero carbon parks, green factories, and multi industry users, including major tracks on hydrogen–power collaboration, integrated innovation, green manufacturing, and virtual power plant ecosystems—breaking silos and enabling cross sector exchange. New Product Launches and Technology Debuts Take the Stage A series of launches spotlighted cutting edge equipment, digital platforms, virtual power plant controls, energy storage safety systems, and core hydrogen components. Companies presented breakthroughs in technology, real world applications, business models, and project case studies. Over 500 International and Domestic Buyer Groups Visit On day one, attendance was strong with a distinctly international atmosphere. Buyer delegations and industry organizations from Brazil, South Korea, Iran, Colombia, the Middle East, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, Belarus, and other countries and regions explored cooperation opportunities. More than 500 professional buyer groups took part, including domestic and international associations and leading corporate delegations. Overseas buyers increased significantly, representing more than 60 countries and regions. The breadth and depth of participation underscore the show’s international appeal.
