Starting a New Chapter in Hydrogen Energy to Boost Green Transition
EP Shanghai and Foshan Institute of Environment & Energy Technology Form Strategic Partnership
Publish Date: 2025-03-11
Beijing, March 7, 2025 – The organizing committee of the 32nd China International Power Equipment & Technology Exhibition (EP Shanghai) has reached a strategic partnership with the Foshan Environment & Energy Institute (FEEI). The agreement was signed by Dr. Wang Ziyuan, Director of FEEI, and Ms. Liu Li, Business Director of Adsale Exhibition Services, under the witness of Mr. Liu Dongye from the China Electricity Council and Dr. Zhao Jishi, FEEI’s Chief Consulting Officer.

As the secretariat of the Hydrogen Facilities & Engineering Branch under the China Civil Engineering Society, FEEI has led over 50 hydrogens, energy storage, and efficiency projects. Its research has gained recognition from NDRC’s Energy Research Institute and major energy firms such as Sinopec and State Power Investment Corp. The Hydrogen Facilities & Engineering Branch, established in November 2023, unites 70+ industry leaders, including Beijing Gas Group, Tsinghua University, and Shanghai Remade Energy.

Key Collaboration Highlights
The partnership will host a dedicated “Hydrogen Energy Theme Hall” and “Hydrogen Forums” at EP Shanghai 2025, scheduled from November 18–20 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The Hydrogen Energy Hall will focus on cutting-edge topics such as hydrogen production, storage, transportation, fueling stations, and cross-industry applications. These efforts aim to integrate hydrogen energy with power systems, supporting China’s carbon neutrality goals.

Dr. Zhao Jishi, Chief Advisor of FEEI, emphasized that this collaboration will accelerate technological exchange, industry growth, and cross-sector partnerships, helping to bridge hydrogen energy with sustainable power systems.

Top Players Teaming Up to Build a Hydrogen-Power Ecosystem
Following the strategic reforms for Chinese-style modernization outlined at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, the power industry is entering a transformative era. The sector is rapidly advancing its "Green and Digital" transition, while the development of a New Power System has reached a critical phase.

As a leading electric power expo, EP Shanghai 2025 is expanding its focus to five key areas:

1. One stop power transmission and distribution
2. New energy, energy storage, and hydrogen
3. Energy digitization
4. Electric power automation
5. Intelligent manufacturing

For the first time, the expo will feature dedicated zones for hydrogen energy, occupying an expanded area of 86,000 square meters across six exhibition halls. This expansion underscores its commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation across the energy ecosystem.
