The China Association for the Application of Mechatronics Technology (CAMETA) is a national, industry‑specific, non‑profit, first‑level association approved and registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Established in September 1989 at the initiative of the former Ministry of Mechanical and Electronic Industries, it brings together, on a voluntary basis, enterprises, research and design institutes, colleges and universities, and related organizations engaged in the research, development, production, and application of mechatronics, industrial automation, robotics, and intelligent manufacturing equipment technologies and products. In 2021, CAMETA was rated a 4A‑level social organization by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The Party's leading body of the association is the Central Social Work Department, while its industry supervisory authority is the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
