Shenzhen Energy Ordos City Etuoke Front Banner Shanghai Miao Economic Development Zone Photovoltaic-to-Hydrogen Project

The photovoltaic‑based hydrogen production project in the Shanghai Miao Economic Development Zone, Ejin Banner, Ordos City, is one of the first batch of wind‑and‑solar‑to‑hydrogen demonstration projects in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Located adjacent to the national‑level Ningdong Energy and Chemical Base, the project utilizes renewable‑energy‑generated electricity for hydrogen production, employing an alkaline water electrolysis process to produce green hydrogen with a purity of 99.999%. The total investment amounts to approximately RMB 1.62 billion. Key facilities under construction include a 250 MW photovoltaic power plant, a 220 kV step‑up substation, and associated transmission lines, as well as a hydrogen production and refueling station capable of producing 6,000 tons of hydrogen per year, along with corresponding hydrogen storage and transportation equipment.
Shenzhen Energy Etuoke Banner Wind–Solar–Hydrogen Integrated Green Ammonia Synthesis Project

The Shenzhen Energy Etuoke Banner Wind–Solar–Hydrogen Integrated Green Ammonia Synthesis Project is among the first batch of national demonstration projects for integrated wind–solar–hydrogen green ammonia production. Construction commenced in 2024, with commercial operation expected by the end of 2026. The project will produce approximately 20,000 tons of hydrogen per year and about 150,000 tons of ammonia annually, employing an integrated solution that pairs green hydrogen with green electricity and green ammonia with green hydrogen. By leveraging green hydrogen, it seamlessly integrates renewable energy with the chemical industry, establishing a complete green‑electricity–green‑hydrogen–green‑ammonia value chain. This initiative aligns with national policies on the new‑energy sector and sustainable development strategies, delivering significant economic, social, and environmental benefits.
