Directly measuring the density of gas in pipelines or storage tanks: TrueDyne's DGF‑I1 density sensor makes this possible. At the heart of the sensor is a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) oscillator in the form of a tuning fork. During measurement, the metal housing surrounding the MEMS is filled with the process medium. The oscillator's natural frequency varies in response to changes in the density of the surrounding gas. Additional sensor elements enable direct recording of the medium's pressure and temperature at the measurement point. With a diameter of 33 mm and a length of 63 mm, the sensor features an exceptionally compact design, allowing it to be installed even in the tightest spaces.
