Testing Services

As an independent third-party laboratory, the Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute's testing services cover a wide range of products, including switchgear, transformers, reactors, instrument transformers, prefabricated substations, insulators, surge arresters, fuses, new‑energy power stations, photovoltaic‑storage‑inverter systems, energy‑storage batteries, converter valves, power capacitors, reactive‑power compensation devices, low‑voltage electrical appliances, and electric‑vehicle charging equipment—more than 110 product categories in total. The Institute has also established laboratories in five locations—Changzhou, Shenyang, Xiamen, Qingdao, and Henan—with comprehensive testing and evaluation capabilities that rank among the world's leading.

Proficiency testing

Relying on national-level centers such as the National Center for Quality Inspection and Testing of High-Voltage Electrical Apparatus, the National Center for Quality Inspection and Testing of Insulators and Surge Arresters, the National Center for Quality Inspection and Testing of Power Capacitors, the National Center for Quality Inspection and Testing of Intelligent Electrical Equipment, and the National Industrial Metrology and Testing Center for Transmission and Distribution Equipment, a proficiency testing provider system was established in August 2022 and put into standardized operation. The organization has successively conducted proficiency testing activities for loop resistance measurement and power-frequency voltage, and in May 2024 obtained CNAS accreditation (Registration No.: CNAS PTO141), becoming a CNAS‑accredited entity specializing in laboratory proficiency testing and measurement audits.
