Low-carbon Economy and Huge Investment in Power Grid of China
spark tremendous opportunities
Leading Automation Equipment Suppliers Participate in the
Electric Power Automation Fair in Beijing
November 5, 2009
Low-carbon economy refers to an economy advocating low power consumption, low pollution and low emission, and a major aim is to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction. Advanced automation technology is an effective way to attain energy-saving and emission reduction in various sectors. There is huge market potential in the development of low-carbon economy that favors the automation enterprises to actively expand to the sectors of smart grid, energy and electrical energy conservation.

In the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", investment on power grid is huge. The demand for power transmission and electric power automation equipment will therefore be sharply increased. Furthermore, it is expected that the total investment by the two largest grid corporations in China will reach 1.4 trillion in the next 3 years. This spells a prosperous development for electric power automation manufacturers.

Despite the fact that there are many integrated automation fairs in China, there is a lack of specialized fair of its kind for the electric power industry. "2010 International Exhibition of Electric Power Automation Equipment & Technology (also know as EPA 2010)" provides the best business platform for automation enterprises to open up the electricity market. EPA 2010 will be held concurrently with "The 13th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology (Also known as EP China 2010)" during October 19 - 21, 2010 at China International Exhibition Center, Beijing, P.R. China. EP China is the only specialized power expo organized by the China Electricity Council and fully supported by all major power group corporations and power grid corporations in China, and the only and largest power event endorsed as UFI approved event. Capturing an 22,000sqm exhibiting area, they are expected to gather over 500 exhibitors and attract over 20,000 trade visitors from all over China and abroad, including power group corporations, power dispatching companies, power grid corporations, power supplies bureaux, etc.

Remarked by the organizer, exhibitor recruitment is encouraging. Well-known exhibitors include leading enterprises from electric power automation industry, such as ABB, Siemens, Chint, Schneider, Metso, Beijing Richang-Science, Phoenix Contact, Beijing Creative, Beijing Kyland, ZANB, Oppfly-Tech Electric, Yantai Dongfang, Xuji, Emerson, LS Industrial System, NARI, Shenzhen 3Onedata, Power Advanced, Ametek, SIFANG, Hyosung, KGE, GE, Hitachi, Toshiba, Hyundai, Ormazabal, and many more. Moreover, the fair is widely supported by international trade associations including Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA) and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA), plus international pavilions from Germany, US, Korea, France and Russia.

In last edition, "International Conference on Smart Grid Technology" was held concurrently. It conveyed the premium topic of smart grid, and specialists from the State Grid Corporation of China, China Southern Power Grid Corporation Ltd, China Guodian Corporation and Southeast University gave the Chinese perspective on the prospect of smart grid development in China. Another session namely "Green Industrial Revolution - Energy Conservation & Emission Reduction Automation Technology Forum", was presented by specialists from the Chinese Automation Association Advisory Working Committee, integrated automation and process automation professional committee, Shanghai Association of Automation, Tongji University, Chinese Automation Association and PLC Open China. In line with the market demand, a series of related seminars and forums will be held alongside with EPA 2010 for in-depth technological exchange among industrial players. Forums will feature topics on the latest technology on electric power automation, energy-saving automation by industrial experts.
