The 12th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology and The 5th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment and Contractors' Supplies (namely as EP China / Electrical China 2008) kick off today at the China International Exhibition Center (Hall 2 - 6), Beijing, PR China. Organized by China Electricity Council and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, the expo gathers 400 global suppliers and 16 major power group and power grid corporations of China at this unique international platform of China from November 12 - 14, 2008.

The opening ceremony of EP China / Electrical China 2008 and the concurrent event - China Power Industry Achievements Exhibition - 30 years of Reform & Opening up is held today with the presence of distinguished guests. Opening speech is given by Mr. Xie Zhenhua, Executive Vice President of China Electricity Council to address the opening. Other major guests on stage include Mr. Wang Xudong, President of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Shi Dazhen, former Minister of Ministry of Electric Power, leader of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Xiao Peng, Vice President of China Southern Power Gird Co., Ltd., Ju Zhanghua, Vice President of China Huaneng Group, Wang Lin, Vice President of China Datang Corporation and Li Yongan, President of China Three Gorges Project Corporation. Moreover, counselors from embassy of France, Czech Republic, Russia in China, and major power group and power grid corporations of China are invited to attend.

EP China / Electrical China attains a record-breaking scale this year. It is participated by 400 leading global suppliers from 20 countries/regions. Amongst are 3M, ABB, Siemens, Schneider, Chint, Areva, GE Energy, Hyosung, Eaton, Toshiba, Hitachi, Japan AE Power, EDF, Mennekes, Rochling, Tamco, Woehner, Du Pont, Dow Corning, Yinhe Hitech, Exide, Rittal, NRG, Hyundai Heavy Industry, Formosa and Wartsila, etc. Moreover, international pavilions from Germany, UK (BEAMA), Korea (Korea Electrical Manufacturers Association), US (US Embassy - Commercial Service) and Spain (AFME), etc. are ready to showcase their innovative products and technology at the fairground.

Remarkable Events of the Power Industry
At the same time, it has been 30 years since the China Reform & Open-door Policy of the power industry. The organizer takes this precious opportunity and triggers the "China Power Industry Achievements Exhibition - 30 years of Reform & Opening up" alongside EP China 2008. It is the first time the expo gathers 16 major power group corporations and power grid corporations in China, including State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, Datang, Huaneng, Huadian, Guodian, China Power Investment, Shen Hua, Three Gorges Project, Guangdong Nuclear, Guangdong Yudean, Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group and State Nuclear, to showcase their gorgeous accomplishment and their future planning.

Moreover, China Electricity Council concurrently organizes the 2008 China Power Business Convention on November 12 & 13. The Convention comprises CDM project trading, under-planning project briefing, equipment purchasing discussion, sales agent / partnership business matching, marketing and technology information sharing, etc., creating unlimited business potentials for power project owners and global suppliers.

Symposia on Power Transmission & Distribution and Environmental Protection Technology are staged to facilitate in-depth interactions among industrial players. Areva T&D China, GE Energy, Siemens Ltd. China, Schneider Electric, Formosa, Albemarle Sorbent, Argillon, Rongxin and Nexans give hot topics on energy conversation and emission deduction, as well as power T&D technology.

International Exhibition on Energy Conservation, Environmental Power and Desulphurization and Denitrification
In view of the accelerating concern in the energy industry towards environmental protection, the organizer kicks off a new event namely International Exhibition on Energy Conservation, Environmental Power and Desulphurization and Denitrification (ECEP China 2008). Exhibitors take this opportunity to present their latest techniques in the sector of energy saving and clean coal power generation. They include Hitachi, Formosa, Albemarle Sorbent, Ingersoll Rand, Delta-Cimic, ABB and Schneider, etc.

Widespread Participation from Trade Professionals

EP China, founded in 1986, is organized by China Electricity Council and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., held rotationally in Beijing and Shanghai in alternate years.
