The 7th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology and The 6th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment & Contractor's Supplies (namely as EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009) kicks off today (July 8) at Shanghai International Exhibition Center, PR China. The 3-day expo embraces 400 leading suppliers from 20 countries / regions and is expected to attract 20,000 trade visitors from all over China and overseas.
The opening ceremony is well attended by leaders of major power group corporations and power grid corporations of China, and representatives from consulate-general in Shanghai. They include Mr. Xie Zhenhua, Executive Vice President of China Electricity Council, Mr. Qiu Zhijian, Director General of East China Bureau of State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Mr. Yao Guoping, Assistant Director General, Smart Grid Department of State Grid Corporation and Mr. Liu Zhihong, Deputy Director General of Grid Research Center, China Southern Power Grid, etc. Mr. Xie Zhenhua gives the opening speech for the expo. He remarked that the development of Chinese power industry in 2009 undergoes a sustainable, rapid and healthy path. It has speeded up the conversion of the mode of electricity development, enhanced operational efficiency, driven the development of green energy and power grid enhancement across regions, urban and rural area, etc. Nowadays, the electricity industry of China has been emerging with the world under globalization. With over 20 years' development, EP China (Beijing) and EP Shanghai have witnessed the vigorous growth of Chinese electricity industry. They have made great contribution to the technological improvement of Chinese electricity industry by introducing overseas advanced equipment and technology, facilitating technological co-operations and exchanges between corporations.
EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009 is the largest electric power exhibition in China. It has gathered 400 leading suppliers from China and 20 countries/regions as well as international pavilions from Germany, United States and Russia. Renowned exhibitors include ABB, Areva, Siemens, Chint, Dongfang Electric, Hyosung, 3M, Schniewindt, Japan AE Power, Hitachi, Toshiba, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Ormazabal, Wacker, Rittal, Roechling, Daihen, MR CHINA, Pentair, Aggreko, NARI, NERC and KGE, etc.
The organizers have held a series of concurrent events alongside EP Shanghai tailored for the industrial players. One of the most attention-grabbing activities is the Electric Power Industry Technology & Power Grid Construction and Development Conference organized by China Electricity Council. It features the hottest topic of Smart Grid which is one of the major focus to the energy industry and has generated unlimited opportunities to the market. Specialists from the State Grid Corporation of China, China Southern Power Grid Corporation Ltd, China Guodian Corporation and Southeast University would give the Chinese perspective on the prospect of smart grid development in China. Besides, speakers from ABB, Siemens would deliver speeches on the concepts, technology and products from European Perspective, while Eaton, S&C, GE Energy and Emerson led by National Electrical Manufacturers Association would deliver talks on smart grid from the US perspective.
To have an in-depth review on the local electric power industry, Ms. Xue Jing, Director General of Department of Statistics and Information of China Electricity Council and the Electric Power Reliability Management Center would deliver "Report on China's Electricity Supply and Demand in the First Half of 2009" and "Report on the Reliability of Major Power Generation and Power T& D Equipment in 2008" respectively.
Moreover, electric power automation and energy saving are another highlights of EP Shanghai 2009. The "Green Industrial Revolution - Electric Power Automation Technology Forum" will be held on July 9 and presented by specialists from Chinese Association of Automation, ARC Advisory Group, Phoenix Contact, GE Fanuc, etc. In another session namely "Green Industrial Revolution - Energy Conservation & Emission Reduction Automation Technology Forum", professionals from Chinese Association of Automation, Siemens, ABB and Fluke Corporation will give insights on the applications of energy-saving technologies.
This year, the Ministry of Energy of Russian Federation takes its first attempt to organize a Russian pavilion at the fairground. It also participates in the "Symposium on Power T&D Technology, Green Power" and its specialists would give topics on 'Development of Distributed and Low Energy Objects on the Base of Gas-Turbine Installation' and join with Quartz New Technologies to speak for 'Cooperation with Chinese Partners in Execution of Infrastructure Energy Project'.
EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009 has achieved a 30% growth on show scale as compared to its last edition. Its comprehensive and quality exhibits, together with the extensive support and participation from the industry have drawn wide attention from trade professionals. More than 20 delegations organized by trade associations and power group corporations from Henan Luoyang, Jiangsu Wuxi and Taizhou, Shanghai, Guangdong Foshan, Neimenggu Dianli Jituan and Shangdong Guodian, etc. have planned to visit and attend the concurrent events.
Besides, there are overseas delegations from Russia, India, and thousands of visitors from 54 countries have pre-registered online to visit the fair for sourcing.
The Online Exhibition of EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009 is available which allow visitors to preview the exhibits in advance. Pre-registered visitors are entitled to a free fair catalogue which costs RMB 50 and other privileges.
EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009 is the only power expo organized by China Electricity Council while Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd is the overseas co-organizer. The fair is held rotationally in Beijing and Shanghai every year.
