EP Shanghai 2009 - the 7th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology will be held concurrently with Electrical Shanghai 2009 - the 6th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment & Contractor?s Supplies during 8th - 10th July 2009 at Shanghai International Exhibition Centre (Level 1 & 2), PR China.
Founded in 1986, EP China and EP Shanghai are organized by China Electricity Council and held rotationally in Beijing and Shanghai in alternate years. As the largest and the most reputable electric power and electrical trade fair in China, EP China has become the only power expo endorsed by UFI Approved Event in China, gaining full support from major power group corporations and power grid corporations.
Remarked by the organizer, EP China / Electrical China achieved its record-breaking scale this year. It was participated by 400 leading global suppliers from 20 countries/regions. Amongst are 3M, ABB, Siemens, Schneider, Chint, Areva, GE Energy, Hyosung, Eaton, Toshiba, Hitachi, Japan AE Power, EDF, Mennekes, Rochling, Tamco, Woehner, Du Pont, Dow Corning, Yinhe Hitech, Exide, Rittal, NRG, Hyundai Heavy Industry, Formosa and Wartsila, etc. Moreover, international pavilions from Germany, UK (BEAMA), Korea (Korea Electrical Manufacturers Association), US (US Embassy - Commercial Service) and Spain (AFME), etc. brought their state-of-the-art products and technology to the fairground. Over 26,900 trade visitors from 47 countries/regions were attracted, including 20 visiting delegations from electric power associations from all over China and abroad.
At the same time, "China Power Industry Achievements Exhibition - 30 years of Reform & Opening up" was concurrently held at the fairground. It grabbed wide attention from the industry. 16 major power group corporations and power grid corporations in China, including State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, Datang, Huaneng, Huadian, Guodian, China Power Investment, Shen Hua, Three Gorges Project, Guangdong Nuclear, Guangdong Yudean, Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group and State Nuclear displayed their gorgeous accomplishment of the past 30 years, while local and overseas industrial professionals gathered to review and set off insights for future planning.
Perpetuating its success, the next edition - EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009 gains widespread recognition from international trade associations and global market leaders. According to the organizer, most of the old exhibitors and world famous enterprises have taken the lead in booking or reserving the booths, including 3M, ABB, Siemens, Hyosung, Chint, Schniewindt, Japan AE Power, Roechling, Toshiba, Hitachi, Ormazabal, Daihen, Wacker, Emerson, MR China, Pentair, etc., while Areva, Hyundai and Rittal even expand their exhibiting area. As for international pavilions, apart from Germany, Korea and US, there will have pavilions from Taiwan and Russia in EP09. Shrouded in the economic recession, the organizer still expresses their strong confidence towards the coming EP09. So far, over 80% of space in International hall is fully occupied. The industry responses are very encouraging!
According to the report by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, PR China (SERC) released in January 2009 , China's installed power capacity increased 90.51 million kilowatts in 2008. The total installed power capacity reached 792.5 million kilowatts at the end of last year, up 10.34% over previous year. National generating capacity has increased 5.18% and 5.23% growth was recorded in electricity consumption. Accelerating investment on power grid optimization further prompts the development of power equipment, especially in favor of the power T&D equipment manufacturers. During the fair, a series of seminars and forums will be held concurrently for the professionals. Topics include power transmission & distribution technology, green power and energy conservation technology. They provide a high-end technological and information exchange platform for industrial players . The organizer expects more high quality trade visitors will be attracted to the fair.
